Using this technology, our veterinarian can assess internal organs such as the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys for disease and conditions such as pneumonia. Additionally, digital radiography is used to inspect areas such as the abdomen and the intestinal tract for foreign objects and obstructions, to detect masses and discover pregnancies. Our doctors can also determine the severity of orthopedic injuries such as breaks and fractures, diagnose chronic arthritis, and certain spinal cord diseases.
We also have the resources to provide digital dental x-rays for our patients. These particular x-rays enable us to locate potential problem areas, identify abscesses and bone loss, as well as find teeth that may need to be removed.
Digital radiography provides images much faster and with greater clarity than traditional x-rays. These images can be manipulated and enhanced to make sure our doctors can see internal issues instantly, enabling us to diagnose a condition more accurately and minimizing the need for multiple x-rays and retakes.
